What is Bhoomi
Bhoomi is a three-hour morning camp rooted in the earth. Rooted in the oldest living martial tradition of Kerala, this is a space to unwind, reset, and move with people who take their practice seriously.
Not a performance. Not a showcase. Just bodies in a room, remembering what they already know.
Open to movers, practitioners, artists, and anyone whose body has been waiting for something older, harder, and more honest than what's currently on offer.
Completely beginner friendly. No prior experience in Kalari or any martial art needed. Every movement is taught from the ground up, at your body's pace. This camp is also designed to be injury preventative — we work with the body's natural range, not against it. If you have existing injuries, let us know and we'll modify accordingly.
What happens on the mat
Kaccha tying · Kalari warmup · Leg & spine work · Breathwork · Introduction to Ashwa Vadivukal
Deeper flexibility drills · Leg work & mobility · Spinal sequences
Vadi sequences · Partner drills · Stick work · Mirroring games · Short choreographed sequence · Stretching & close
Come prepared
Comfortable, breathable clothes you can move freely in. Nothing restrictive.
Minimum one litre. You will sweat.
Kalari is practiced without footwear. Leave your shoes at the door.
Show up ready. Leave your timeline at home.
Take home
You'll learn to tie a kaccha at the start of camp. It leaves with you — your first piece of Kalari to keep.
A curated selection of things we love — made with intention, chosen for the community.
